Ayrshire Power is proposing to develop a new 1724 MW (net) multi-fuel power station using state-of-the-art technology.

The facility would be fuelled by coal and up to 14% biomass with carbon capture and storage technology, providing low-carbon energy for decades to come.

The port-side location provides options for transporting the carbon dioxide either by pipeline or by ship to offshore storage sites.
